Social Account: Unable to Connect to Instagram

In order to connect to Instagram, your Instagram account must be a Business Account.


Confirm you have an Instagram Business Account

Instagram supports 3 types of accounts: Personal, Business, and Creator. Alkai can only connect to Instagram Business Accounts.


To verify or switch your account type on Instagram please follow Instagram's help article.


On Desktop Computer

To set up a business account:


  1. Tap the Profile Icon (profile picture) in the side menu to go to your profile.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap Switch to professional account.
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Select a category for your business and tap Switch to professional account.
  6. Select Business and tap Next.


Continue following the remaining steps to setup the details about your business account.


On Mobile App

To set up a business account:


  1. Tap the Profile Icon (profile picture) in the bottom right to go to your profile.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap Switch to professional account.
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Select a category for your business and tap Switch to professional account.
  6. Select Business and tap Next.
