Downloading a Post

If you don't want to share your Alkai creation to social media (or, for example, the destination social media channel is yet outside of Alkai's reach), you can save the post to your device instead. The post will be instantly placed to your Downloads folder or to your camera roll for you to manage and share it manually anywhere at your discretion.

To download a post, follow these simple steps.

  1. In the chat with Alkai or in your Weekly Plan, find a post that you want to download, select "Share", then "Share now". The same applies to the post editor.

  2. In the "How would you like to share?" window, wait until the post is recorded and prepared. In the meantime, double-check that the "Download" option is selected (you may select other sharing destinations at the same time).
  3. Once the post has been recorded, you will notice that the "Download" button will become active (if you select any other sharing destinations along with downloading the post, the button will read "Share" instead; it will also download your post apart from sharing it to the selected social media). Click on that button.

  1. Wait until Alkai downloads the post to your device - the downloading process will be marked as "Processing" and this window will close automatically once completed.

  1. Done! The post has been downloaded to your device as an mp4 video or a png image (depending on whether your post is a video or an image). These formats are widely recognized by all social media, and as such, the resulted file can be uploaded or shared wherever you want it to be.

  • On your computer, the downloaded file can be found in the Downloads folder (if working in Google Chrome, you may use this link to directly access the Downloads folder: chrome://downloads/ or you can click on three dots in the top right corner of the screen in Chrome and select "Downloads").
  • On Android, the post will be placed into the Downloads folder, too. In the Chrome browser on Android, you can reach that folder by clicking on three dots in the top right corner of the Chrome window, then "Downloads". The post will also show in your camera roll in the "Downloads" folder (to open, access the Gallery app on your Android device, then look up the "Downloads" album and your post should reside there).

  • On iOS, once the recording process is completed, the system will ask you how you would like to save the post on the device. Typically, you'll want to select "Save Video" - this option will save the downloaded post to your camera roll from where you will be able to export it to your teammates or to social media. To manage the downloaded post, open the Photos app and go to the Recents tab. If you want to sort by file type, navigate to Albums, then Videos under the Media Types section.
