Direct Sharing to TikTok

With Alkai's new TikTok integration, you can now share or schedule posts directly to TikTok with control over privacy and engagement settings. This guide explains each setting to help you manage your post visibility and interactions while staying compliant with TikTok’s content disclosure guidelines.

Privacy Settings in the TikTok Share Menu

When you select to share directly to TikTok, a Privacy Settings menu appears, allowing you to customize who can view and interact with your post. Here’s a breakdown of each option:

1. Who Can View This Post:

This setting controls who can see your TikTok post. You have three options:

Public: Your post will be visible to anyone on TikTok. Choose this if you want to maximize your post's reach and allow anyone to view it.
Following Each Other: Only people you follow and who also follow you back will be able to view your post. This option is ideal if you want to restrict visibility to a trusted circle.
Only You: Only you will be able to see the post. This is a private setting and is great for keeping drafts or personal posts.

2. Allow Users to...

These are engagement settings that let you decide how other TikTok users can interact with your post:

Comment: Enabling this allows viewers to leave comments on your post. If you prefer to limit interaction, you can toggle this off.
Duet: Turning this on allows other users to create a “duet” with your video, where they can respond or add to it with their own video. This can help increase engagement and expand your content’s reach.
Stitch: Enabling this lets users take a portion of your video and “stitch” it into their own content, which is another way to encourage engagement and shareability.

Disclose Video Content for Transparency

To comply with TikTok’s guidelines, you may need to disclose when your post includes promotional content. This setting is important if you’re sharing content that promotes goods or services in exchange for something of value, either for your brand or on behalf of a third party.

Disclose Video Content (On/Off Toggle)

If you enable this option, two additional checkboxes will appear below. At least one checkbox must be selected when this toggle is on.

Your Brand: Select this if the post promotes yourself or your own brand. Choosing this will label the content as “brand organic,” signaling that it represents your business or personal brand organically, without involving third parties.
Branded Content: Select this if your post promotes another brand or third-party product. This setting is useful when creating sponsored content for other brands and lets viewers know the post is promotional.

You may select both checkboxes if your post promotes both your own brand and a third party.

These settings give you full control over your TikTok posts’ visibility and engagement while ensuring transparency with promotional content. Be sure to review and adjust these settings before scheduling or posting directly from Alkai.
